I am feeling the hit!

karl-lagerfled-for-net-a-porter

You’ve got to be living under a rock if you haven’t been hit by the Karl mania yet. Superbly marketed, pumped with an air of sartorial mystery by Net-A-Porter, the KARL collection by one and only Karl Lagerfeld was finally revealed today. As expected, every fashionista (not a big fan of the word but I am sleepy now) worth her salt has been on the site or still is. Bloody hell, I WANT those PVC shorts!

Shoe me love – Amazing Shoe Boxes

DropFrontShoeBoxLInenB_x

So my friend Shereen Harris has an absolutely enviable collection of shoes and I just found out that she has added a few more to it. I am currently nursing my jealousy for two reasons – One, she has fabulous new shoes (although I haven’t seen them, I am pretty sure they are stunning) and second, I have such tiny feet (size 5) that it’s really just my ego that stops me from buying shoes from the kids section. Thank god for insoles!!

Anyway coming back to Madam Harris and her shoes, the only problem that she’s now facing is that she doesn’t have fun shoe boxes to keep her heels safe and gorgeous. As a wonderful friend that I am, I have decided to sort her and many of you out with my absolutely unsolicited suggestions! Here they are:

If you love colours as much as I do, I suggest these lovelies. I am thinking of picking up some of these:

You can find these on www.betterware.co.uk

And then there are some genius designers out there who look at every regular/everyday thing differently. One such designer is Naoto Fukasawa who organized the ‘BOX’ workshop + exhibition during the 2009 Tokyo Design Week (yes yes I do have a thing for all things Japanese, I do) called ‘without thought.’ The result was a series of thoughtful boxes. One such box was this shoe box designed by Aya Masuda. Now how bloody fabulous is this. I think I have just been hit by a DIY wave.

If you live in a city with an Ikea store or can order, I suggest these boxes with transparent covers as a cheap and simple solution. These can store a few pairs of flats or a pair of heels(up to 4-5 inches). Although these are available in many colours, I prefer white only because I have these only in white.

And of course there are these simple transparent boxes that do the job perfectly fine. You can easily buy them online. They are not exactly out-of-the-box but they help you admire your heel-friends even when you’re not wearing them.

We pick and buy shoes with so much love, it’s only fair we keep them gorgeous forever! Gosh, writing this post is making me crave some shoe-shopping. Damn it! *hides the credit card* I hate you, Shereen!

Bag of quirks!

Today I took a long and hard look at the bags in my closet and it struck me that even though I had many vibrant, striking colours staring at me, I lacked some fun, quirky pieces. Also all my clutches are now black… I need a few browns and tans really quickly.

These are just a few of what I have and I really need to maintain my bags better!

I decided to do a little search on the interweb to see what’s available and where with a focus on fun prints + shapes and I wasn’t disappointed! Here are some of my picks from what I saw. You like?

Telephone Bag - Lunacy Boutique, UK (www.lunacyboutique.co.uk/)

Paul Frank Camera Bag (Shop at PaulFrank.com or Amazon)

Oh God, I am so bloody blonde sometimes! clutch (available on Amazon and Ebay)

Lulu Guinness Furniture Shop bag (at http://www.luxist.com/)

I can't help but put one luxe piece on the list! I am loving this Chanel Matriochka doll piece(Chanel.com)

Neil Dantas makes some really pun-ny bags and is hugely popular in Bombay. (www.neildantas.com)

Pretty pretty!

I just received my St. Erasmus earrings (customized for length) from White, Hauz Khas. Aren’t these simply gorgeous?!!

Refuel the wardrobe!

I very rarely channel a rocker chic and that’s why every time I visit a Diesel store I just come back with goodies for my husband. Lucky man, don’t you think?! Haha all that’s about to change because I am absolutely loving Diesel’s new collection for women. The pieces are confident, smart and sexy with a touch of femininity. I can see more attention to detail in terms of shape, material used and finish. Take a look at Blake Lively in Diesel “Grupee” jeans and leather “L-Sienna” coat from the new Spring Summer 2012 collection. I am liking what I am seeing and if you like it too then let’s go shopping!
