When most designers go mental with their FB messages talking about how little they are sleeping and how many extra cheese pizzas they’re ordering (Domino’s pizza’s existence in India is dependent on Anand Bhushan), you should know that WIFW is just around the corner! Starting 6th of October, we’ll see new trends for SS13 and it’ll be interesting to see if our designers come up with India-friendly trends or follow the global catalogue. Either way, I am hoping to see good designs and some interesting ramp music (something I crave for!).

New faces at WIFW SS ’13

It’s going to be a great mix of old and new. Mama Ritu Kumar will be doing the finale and a few new faces will be walking the ramp for the first time! Coming to the designers, here’s the list of participating runway designers. My ‘looking-forward-to” picks in the next blog.

FDCI has collaborated with select Dutch designers for a collection that will debut on the opening day of WIFW SS’13. It’s a part of the three year long programme where Indian designers Suneet Varma, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna will collaborate with two designers from The Netherlands. While Varma has collaborated with Jan Taminiau (Couture designer for her Royal Princess Maxima of The Netherlands, Gaga and Beyonce), designer duo Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna have tied up with DIED (hmm!), a silk and jewellery label. Good times!
