So my friend Shereen Harris has an absolutely enviable collection of shoes and I just found out that she has added a few more to it. I am currently nursing my jealousy for two reasons – One, she has fabulous new shoes (although I haven’t seen them, I am pretty sure they are stunning) and second, I have such tiny feet (size 5) that it’s really just my ego that stops me from buying shoes from the kids section. Thank god for insoles!!
Anyway coming back to Madam Harris and her shoes, the only problem that she’s now facing is that she doesn’t have fun shoe boxes to keep her heels safe and gorgeous. As a wonderful friend that I am, I have decided to sort her and many of you out with my absolutely unsolicited suggestions! Here they are:
If you love colours as much as I do, I suggest these lovelies. I am thinking of picking up some of these:

You can find these on www.betterware.co.uk
And then there are some genius designers out there who look at every regular/everyday thing differently. One such designer is Naoto Fukasawa who organized the ‘BOX’ workshop + exhibition during the 2009 Tokyo Design Week (yes yes I do have a thing for all things Japanese, I do) called ‘without thought.’ The result was a series of thoughtful boxes. One such box was this shoe box designed by Aya Masuda. Now how bloody fabulous is this. I think I have just been hit by a DIY wave.

If you live in a city with an Ikea store or can order, I suggest these boxes with transparent covers as a cheap and simple solution. These can store a few pairs of flats or a pair of heels(up to 4-5 inches). Although these are available in many colours, I prefer white only because I have these only in white.

And of course there are these simple transparent boxes that do the job perfectly fine. You can easily buy them online. They are not exactly out-of-the-box but they help you admire your heel-friends even when you’re not wearing them.

We pick and buy shoes with so much love, it’s only fair we keep them gorgeous forever! Gosh, writing this post is making me crave some shoe-shopping. Damn it! *hides the credit card* I hate you, Shereen!
